Description

They almost always visit both hotels at the same time.

  • Fire Extinguishers - to be inspected in the past year. Look at the tag with month and year - but the newest ones in the most visible area. Keep in mind, kitchens must have an extinguisher as well (PIP - be sure and state it is the ONLY room at PSS w/ a kitchen - skip conf room!. MH kitchens: MH7 to MH11)
  • Pick out at least 2 rooms per hotel that will most likely be empty. Make certain smoke detector and Fire Escape Path is on Door. One of those rooms, do one with a kitchen. Keep in mind, the ones at MH, they have requested in past, that they do carbon monoxide. Can tell they are dual mode detectors by the 2 set of vents on top.
  • Exit signs should be lit
  • Fire Panel / Sprinkler System Panel needs yearly inspection ($800) - unmonitored.
  • Make sure nothing is in front of the electrical panels (PSS: behind the Pool Pumps, Main Office, Storage Closet above Pool room). MH: Laundry room. Make sure nothing blocking the fire turnoff in the chemical room behind the gas dryer. There is also another turn-off inside the storage room by room 122.

These items, we were recommended by Metro Fire, but not cited by City:
Main: Sprinkler heads in pool area need to be replaced - Heavy calcium buildup.
1- every sprinkler system needs to have at least 3 extra sprinkler heads on hand for FD use
2- tamper valve needs to be either tied to the fire panel as supervisory or lock with a chain and lock
3- all devices report to fire panel as pull station zone 1 (Heat and smoke detectors reported as a single pull station)
